Mendacity was originally formed by Jose Flores (drums), Charlie Ekendahl (Lead guitar), Carlos Castillo (Bass/ Vocals), and Ralph Rodriguez (Guitar) in 1994. They released a four song demo entitled “Atrocity Reflected” which subsequently received much acclaimed reviews for the aggressiveness in their music delivered by such a young line up. In this demo, Mendacity was able to break ground with their song, “Innocence Is My Name,” which established the hallmark song for the band during those years.

In 1996, Mendacity hit the studio and released their first full length album entitled “Imprisonment.” During its release, the band received much attention focused on their songwriting improvement delivering powerful riffs with well thought out melodies. In this album, Mendacity re-recorded “Innocence Is My Name” for the well-earned attention it received.

In 1997, Mendacity released a five song EP titled “For Dear Life” which experimented along the lines of the hardcore/ death/melodic music genre. With this effort, the band scored a hit song, “For Dear Life,” providing aggressive riffs, hard drum beats, and screaming vocals.

In 2005, after a long absence, Carlos Castillo (Bassist) reunited with Mendacity, this time comprised by Jose Flores (Drums), Charlie Ekendahl (Guitar/Vocals), and Omar Elesgaray (rhythm guitar). Together they’ve recorded their second full length album, self-titled, due to be released on August 23, 2008 under Vinland Records.

Mendacity is already currently working on upcoming material to be released in 2009
